I’ve been coming to Freeport with my family for many years. And we always overplayed to stay at the boring old Hilton down the road from LLbean and it’s fine but when me and my girlfriend were looking for a more ago and fun option to stay up in Freeport for a few nights we stumbled across This campground. When we saw their beautiful cabins we knew we had to try it out. The nightly rate was really good for the quality of the cabin we got. And the staff is super nice and they are always checking in via email to make sure your stay is going well. After that first trip when we were planning our trip again this year we knew we had to go back this campground. This time we stayed in the larger cabin and it was really nice the atmosphere was amazing and this was honestly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I have even gone as far as to recommend it to my family and friends and I have even started planning a trip for next year to stay again with my family. I plan on making this trip a regular trip and I want desert of Maine to be a part of it every time.
What a wonderful campground!!! Haven #16 is designed so nicely and spacious with a beautiful bathroom. I enjoyed so much just sitting on the comfy sofa and looking outside. Thanks Desert of Maine ❤️
Had a great time staying here with my parents over the summer. Beautiful facilities and such peaceful camping environment. I've never stayed at any campsite with such respectful guests. It was the epitome of Northern Hospitality.
The visit was for a fun company outing. We started with the train tour of the facility. Then we broke into teams for mini golf excitement. A great time was had by all.
The new owners are investing in beautiful upgrades throughout the facility.
The ecological portion of the tour was most educational.
Well-maintained facility with a variety of activities and interests for all ages. Wonderful mini golf course. One of the best family places we've ever been to.
Stayed here for our anniversary trip and absolutely loved it!! A hidden gem just outside of Portland
We stayed in one of the Haven cabins. Really great. Everything was clean and modern. Having the firepit right outside was such a nice touch. It's very quiet but only a few minutes from Freeport.
